reports "no medium", which I'm assuming (hoping!) to mean that the controller chip (alcor micro 9385) is dead... I really need to get some data off this chip...

What was the symptom of the dead drive you recovered like this?</description>

		<description>Are you sure it's a 128 MB ? (look like a 32MB) .. 

Check the disk partition (yeah, we can partition a usb stick too), and reformat the key.</description>
